October 30, 2024
10 am – 3 pm
Registrations due October 23, 2024
If you are starting to plan your institution’s commemoration of America 250, or realizing you should, this program is for you.
Join us at the Greenwich Historical Society as members of the Connecticut State Historical Records Advisory Board, archivists throughout the state who work together to preserve and expand access to the historic records, share their expertise and information on how to use your archives, archives in Connecticut and online resources to uncover untold stories from your community during the American Revolution. In addition, participants will learn about the resources available through Connecticut’s America 250 commission.
Program participants will receive a curator-led tour of the exhibition at the Greenwich Historical Society, Greenwich During the Revolution: A Frontier Town on the Front Line with special emphasis on how archive collections were used to present new perspectives on the Revolutionary War. Tours will also be provided of the Historical Society’s James Stevenson & Josie Merck Stevenson Library & Archives.
This program is presented by the Connecticut State Historical Records Advisory Board, Conservation ConneCTion, Connecticut League of Museums and the Greenwich Historical Society with a grant from the National Historic Publications & Records Commission.
